Everyone knows, how important it is to practice gratitude? However; in our day to day hustle of life, we always forget to practice it on regular basis, now a day’s there are more critics’ then appreciative people, people feel proud to say that I am good critic!!!! Good for them, but being appreciative can certainly change your life.
I know it is very difficult to practice gratitude when you are facing a difficult day, but that’s when your mind needs it more, to keep your energy high and going…..
In recent past I got rejections for my visa application, internal job posts and faced difficulties to get approvals in my home loan transfer, but practicing gratitude helped me to smile on those rejection and move ahead.
My France visa was rejected twice but I know universe had something great for me and that’s when I went for Himalaya trek and got an Idea to start a blog, which is helping me to develop my skills and inspire others.
If something is not working; Be grateful that something better is coming. Be receptive for everything in life; Grace will automatically follow you.
In our scriptures everywhere directly or indirectly it is mentioned How Attitude of Gratitude is important.
Bible: Psalm 23, Psalm 136: 1–3, Psalm 50:23: and so many more tell us importance about being grateful.
Hindu Scriptures: Take it Rudra, Atharvashirsh or any Ved, everywhere they explained importance of praising lord and in every prayer we talk about how grateful we are towards nature or God.
Qur’an , Surah Al-Luqman has a verse that says, “…Anyone who is grateful does so to the profit of his own soul…” (31:12) In other words, being grateful for your life will benefit and purify your soul.
I was skeptical about following this practice, unknowingly everyone did this in childhood but once you’re engaged in family, job and studies you tend to forget importance of this and as a result you even forget to smile.
Below are some points of how I Cultured Attitude of Gratitude
This is a practice and to cultivate any habit you need to create momentum, I used to find out hell lot of reason for not putting them down in words and just rewind entire day in my mind and say thanks, and find out every possible reason to not write it down, however it really makes a difference when you write it down.
If you are not a person of pen and paper, sit in front of your computer or write in mobile, I created a separate email id where I send my gratitude notes every day, and believe me it is really fun to read them after some time or when you are feeling sad or low.
Go for Gratitude Walk
This is something which I love to do, it’s very simple practice just think about few things you are grateful for, few things you learned in that day, and things which you want to appreciate and be mindful about thoughts. So I do write in evening and go for walk in morning, if you follow this you get good & peaceful sleep with energetic & inspiring day.
As a reminder, I have gratitude stone, whenever; I touch that stone it is reminder for me to be thankful for something, it is very easy and funny to say; but it brings miracle!! Just be thankful and have that feeling for 10 second, I will not be able to explain that in words but you can experience it yourself and don’t forget to put your experience in comment.
